This summer’s word was “Millenium”. I read in “El País” that the most practiced sport was the “to be fed up with the Larsson’s books.” It was fun to be at the beach and see people lying down on their towel trying to lift this brick. It was impressive to arrive at the airport and see how many people were reading any of the three books of the trio. I’m wondering if Ryanair did not think of asking for an extra to carry this book around….
Best sellers are a plus for companies. They need a good product and a stream of sympathy from the public. You also need to be in the right place at the right moment. When those conditions take place, we find product or services that are better sold than normal. Another example this time about cosmetics, the best seller are Touch Eclat from Ives Saint Laurent, or the 8 Hours cream from Elizabeth Arden…
We have our own. They are collections or designs that have caught women for one reason or another. We have to keep in mind that Chaverdi brings together the limited series with the fact of being successful. Let’s take a look.
Sello collection, from Nadia Rabosio. It is the official best seller. It is a complete collection: has necklaces, earrings, ring and bracelets. It is functional and has a big design input.
Ego collection, from Barbara Chimenti. This one has a style between futuristic and classical. Perls are always liked.
Long earrings from the Hojas collection, also from the Italian designer and established in Menorca, Nadia Rabosio. It has a playful air and the strange feel of the lava.
Chokers and earrings with onix from the Suite collection, also from Chimenti. Details with onix are infallible.
By the way, which of the two cinema adaptations of Millenium did you like most?

“This is it” has just been released. The film is about the final rehearsals of Mickael Jackson last tour. The box office analysts assure that the film will earn more than 400 million dollars. With such a success, this film will be among the 50 most seen films in the world. Numbers to make your head spin. But, why are so many people going to see the film? To see the amazing dances of Jacko? To relive the Balmain fashion? To sing along Billy Jean? Maybe, but there is another reason,“This is it” will only be on for two weeks.
The ephemeral idea is very strong in the show business, as well as in the fashion industry. It means that what we see is so special that we can neither massify nor adulterate it. The idea of opening ephemeral stores, of launching collections for a concise period and to organize sales events for “as long as stocks last” is an inheritance from the art world. Fashion has recuperated it with alliances of H&M with designers such as Lagerfeld and this past November, with Jimmy Choo. The secret of the success? That when they are over, they are over.
All our designs of jewelry and fashion jewelry are part of a limited series…they are limited editions. This means that our designs are manufactured in a certain quantity of necklaces, rings, bracelets and rings. And there is not any more. When those quantities are sold, it is over. We do not want to be everywhere. We want to be where we want to be. It sounds redundant, but this is it, as Michael Jackson would say.

Chaverdi is located in Banyoles (Spain). Everybody knows that Banyoles is nearby Figueres and Cadaqués. Everybody knows that those places are Dalí’s. Everybody knows that Dalí is one of the outstanding surrealist authors. And that Surrealism is one of the great movements of the 20th century. So far, everything is clear.

What not everybody knows is that in our way we wanted to pay a little tribute to Surrealism in a year where marvelous exhibitions are held to honor the creativity of this movement. For example, Pompidou in Paris exhibits up to January the 12th “The Subversion of the Images”, a review of pictures and surrealistic cinema. The MoMA in New York shows this movement with an erotic touch. The exposition is called “The Erotic Object” and you can visit it up to January the 4th.
And the theme of objects is of course very interesting to us. We aimed at designing a piece of fashion jewelry that is fun, that is a surprise, as if it would be a really weir, almost a surreal object. It is all about a double ring. It is an exclusive design, part of a limited edition, as everything we do.
Who said that one ring can only be for one finger?
