Erika Hartje

Erika started her life in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1972. In 1994 she began learning jewelry designing in the Miami Beach Art Center (USA). She continues her studies in the Escola d’Arts i Oficis of Menorca, one of the Balearic Islands off the Mediterranean cost of Spain, and it is also here that she decides to start her career as a professional jewelry designer.

Erika is always looking to learn new ways to express her thoughts in the form of special designs and continues to follow a great magnitude of courses and workshops on techniques and designs. This intense variety of studies enables her to express her creative spirit in jewelry of a great variety, the tremendous creativity of Erika enables her to create collections of jewelry based on unusual themes and original materials.

To create her necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings, she uses noble materials such as gold, silver, etc. but also palm leaves, azafran, pepper corns, and she can be inspired by Etruscan art, but also by the physical moment fo the conception of life.

From 1997, Erika’s collections have been shown in art galleries and trade shows in a number of cities in the USA, Spain and Japan. Of special note is the prizes she has won at the International show Eurobijoux (accessories, jewelry and fashion jewelry) in both 2004 and 2006. She has also won an award at the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Palma (Sant Eloi) in 2005.
Since 2007, Erika is founder of the guild of jewelers “7 de joies”, with whom she has participated in several expositions in Spain.
In 2008, she joined three other artisans to start “tres3tres”, a permanent multidisciplinal exposition in the port of Mahon (Menorca).
Also in 2008, Erika starts her collaboration with Chaverdi and creates the exclusive designs of the collections Aracea and Salvia. Both are silver plated with a matte finishing.
